Professional Conduct and Complaints

Codes of conduct define the professional and ethical standards expected of registered persons. The complaint process provides a formal channel for reporting alleged unprofessional conduct.

The codes address integrity, competence, public welfare, environmental responsibility, professional relationships, confidentiality and duties to clients.

Geologists Act 2008
Registered geologists Code of Professional Conduct for Geologists Applies to Registered Professional Geologists, Registered Graduate Geologists and Registered Foreign Geologists. Registered practitioners Code of Professional Conduct for Practitioners Applies to practitioners registered under section 21 of the Geologists Act 2008. Formal complaint Complaint on Unprofessional Conduct Guidance, submission requirements, privacy information and complaint forms in English and Malay.

A complaint should identify the relevant provision of the Geologists Act 2008, the Geologists (Registration of Geologists) Regulations 2015 or the applicable code.
